Frequently asked questions
Does my child need to wear protective gear to ride an electric scooter?
Yes, your child does have to wear protective gear when riding an electric scooter. This can protect them from hurting themselves should they fall off or crash into something, and potentially even safe them from dangerous situations. Helmets are essential for riding electric scooters and bikes for everyone, but especially children who might be more likely to have an incident. Important safety gear to equip your child with incldues:
Helmet
Knee and elbow pads
Wrist guards
Long-sleeved clothing
High visibility clothing if your child will be riding at nighttime
Do electric scooters take a long time to charge?
The time it takes to recharge an e-scooter depends on the brand and model you choose. However, as a general rule of thumb, e-scooters can take between 2 and 12 hours to fully charge from zero. Most electric scooters will charge completely by the six-hour mark, so don't worry too much about having to wait the full 12 hours. Older models might take longer to charge because of older batteries, and if you choose to buy a scooter second-hand, you may come across slow charging times because of its previous usage.
What age are electric scooters suitable for?
In Australia, the general rule of thumb is that an e-scooter can be ridden from the age of 16 years. However, some states, such as the Northern Territory, have a minimum age of 18. Your child can ride an e-scooter suitable for their age on private land (in parks or on your property) between the ages of 12 to 15 years when you're supervising them. They must always be wearing the correct safety gear and be with a trusted adult.
How fast do kids' electric scooters go?
Kids e-scooters typically have a top speed of between 10 and 20 km/h, with some models offering adjustable speed settings and speed limiters so parents can cap how fast their children can ride. However, you can get scooters that boast higher speeds closer to 30 or even 40 km/h, but we would caution against going any faster than 35 km/h unless your child is older and very skilled at e-riding.

My son really enjoyed his crazy kart! its like almost everyday he never forgot to use it. . The battery took so long to ran out, it looks like its running for more than an hour with some rests in between, just enough time that my son gets tired. it's worth every penny spent on it! Highly recommended!
