The handy handbrake
One thing we've noticed about scouring the balance bike market is that almost none of them come with handbrakes. While there is often good reason for this (balance bikes are designed to improve gross motor skills rather than fine motor skills), we've found that many kids can easily use handbrakes while riding without becoming overwhelmed. This means that they're learning another skill with the Berg Biky Cross that they otherwise wouldn't have with another balance bike.

Air filled tyres
The Berg Biky Cross balance bike comes with 12-inch pneumatic tyres that are full of air with plenty of tread, making them ideal for transitioning between a balance bike and a pedal bike. The wheels cushion the rider which makes learning more comfortable and gives them more freedom to ride over bumps and uneven ground. We've found that they also offer a truer feel than EVA foam or hard plastic wheels.
